Parent Programs
“As a father of two, I’ve learned firsthand that shaping behavior is much easier when you support a positive choice rather than punish a negative one. My parent program uses this principle to guide parents on how to communicate more effectively around sensitive issues.”

Specifically, Dr. Bellace will demonstrate exercises using relaxation training and meditation, as well as cognitive behavioral techniques such as reframing and writing therapy. In addition, the concept of natural highs (e.g. running, cold water emersion, helping others, etc.) will be presented as an alternative to substance misuse and abuse. The goal is to help improve the quality of life for both parents and their teens.
